Spiller, Ford don’t run 40 at pro day (AP)

Two of college football's fastest chose to sit this one out. Former Clemson stars C.J. Spiller and Jacoby Ford passed up the chance to run the 40-yard dash in front of a full house of NFL scouts, coaches and personnel at the Tigers' pro timing day. "There really was no need to run it. Why waste the energy?" said Spiller, the Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year.

Former Clemson stars C.J. Spiller and Jacoby Ford have passed up the opportunity to run at the school's pro timing day. Scouts from most NFL teams were at Clemson on Thursday to watch the former Tigers go through various drills as they prepare for next month's draft. Spiller and Ford posted two of the fastest times at last month's NFL combine in Indianapolis.

Oregon QB Masoli faces burglary charge (AP)

Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, who helped lead the Ducks to the Pac-10 title and a Rose Bowl berth last season, faces a burglary charge in connection with a theft at a campus fraternity house in late January. The Lane Country district attorney's office says Masoli and former Oregon receiver Garrett Embry were each charged Wednesday with one count of burglary in the second degree.

While 11 of his former University of Maryland teammates pressed to make an impression on NFL scouts, offensive tackle Bruce Campbell smiled for the television cameras and happily answered questions from reporters. Campbell had nothing left to prove after running the 40-yard dash in an impressive 4.85 seconds and bench-pressing 225 pounds 34 times last month in Indianapolis at the NFL combine.
