Curated speaks on a new set of Invader prints that have just landed at POW.

“One issue with street art, as I see it, comes in a difficult translation to pieces that can enter the collectors market. How does one, for example, turn Invader’s site specific mosaic into easily transported commodity?

The latest print offerings from Pictures on Walls do a good job capturing the spirit of Invader’s work. The prints are embossed to give tiled effect to the paper and ultimately working to keep the low relief of the artist’s pieces at the fore. In all, there are three prints, simple enough, and varying in edition from 25 to 50.

This is the latest installment in our heroically gruff series on Hemingway Days, examining the charms of spare prose, sport fishing and all things Ernest.

As an epilogue to our magnum blog opus, we couldn’t help drawing your attention to Mr. Charles Bicht, cat lover and 2010’s Hemingway Lookalike of the Year. This was his 12th year going out for the prize, but apparently at 64 years old, he’s now exactly the right age for it.

As a bonus, the prize fish was a 400-pound blue marlin (worth $25,000), and the running of the bulls was entirely mechanical.

Congratulations, gentlemen.

Curated weighs in on Blu’s massive new mural in Warsaw, Poland. “While not exactly a lead up piece to his involvement in the tenth installment of Nuart (a now yearly street art festival in Stavenger, Norwary), Blu’s recent mural in Warsaw, Poland is indicative of the scope of recent work. The narrative is strong, as is the concept. It is the type of “go big” stuff I most appreciate in the genre.”
